An Invite to participate

I've been communicating with the director at one of the South Carolina Welcome Centers (Fair Play, I-85, coming into South Carolina from Georgia) and have been invited to participate in the 2009 National Travel and Tourism week, May 9th through May 17th. This particular Welcome Center will be having industry partners in the area promoting themselves on Friday, May 15th and Saturday, May 16th, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. We are allowed to distribute any promotional type item we can (brochures, coupons, business cards, et cetera; and in my case it will be bookmarks and some other things for the kids). I'm working on some ideas now - following my "Where will the adventure take you next?" theme - and hopefully I will be able to have plenty of goodies for everyone.

So if you are traveling that weekend in May between Georgia and South Carolina, stop by Saturday, May 16th, between 11 a.m. and 4 p.m. and say hello to me. I'd love to meet some of my readers from other states. See you all there. E :)

I love your packet! It will be a huge hit- as well as the bookmarks! I hope you have lots of success. The BCE 6th Grade is cheering you on! :)

Thanks, Mr. Hughes. I am looking forward to being out there and making contact with travelers from other states - it will be something different that's for sure - lol - I'm hoping I can get everything printed up and tucked away to be ready. I'll keep you all posted on how it goes - after the 16th - E :)

Thanks Helen. The Welcome Centers are the ones having the National Travel & Tourism week and my goal is to be in every state since my books are about every state. I hope to make lots of contacts and hopefully that will lead to many sales - lol - thanks for stopping by - E :)

Hi E! Long time since we've chatted. As far as the 2 to 1 preference, I included all the voting from over on Facebook in the "pot", as well (not for the contest winner--that was 2 separate winners), but to determine who liked what.

But your preference has been granted! The sales reps and other "powers that be" chose the Map pose for the cover. They felt it conveyed more of a sense of adventure. :-)

It does need tweaking, as I asked for the map to look a little more "used" and to also put in a background of the mountains. I hope to see it soon, and then I will post it. They told me the release date, as well: February 2010.

Oh, I'm going to e-mail you a blog promotion opportunity for this summer from some gal who does "beach reads" and is looking for not only featured authors for her blog line-up but also some reviews, etc. for "homeschool curriculum" which I think your stuff would fit well in. You just have to scrounge up some reviews from friends (you can use mine from he first book if you like)
