New Year, New Tactic

Everyone knows I follow Mr. Hughes' blog, but whodathunk that one comment from a teacher on his blog would have led to so many other wonderful teacher blogs. From that one comment, I have found several dozen teachers' blogs to follow or to subscribe to via email. I have left comments on several of them as well, hoping that by leaving my signature line (see below) that I'll garner some new followers and hopefully some new virtual school visits, or if they are close enough, real school visits and book signings.

It only takes one right connection to make the big leap to getting your name out there. Encouraging all authors who are interested in doing school visits to start following teacher blogs, work on virtual school visits and then build to the next level. Who knows where the adventure will take you.

Hoefully 2011 is the year the JGDS series will take off - fingers crossed and hoping to make the right connection somewhere.

Here is what my signature looks like:

---------------
Elysabeth Eldering
Author of the Junior Geography Detective Squad, 50-state, mystery, trivia series

Where will the adventure take you next?

Do you think it will work? I can only hope.

I would still like to see more followers of this blog, as I am still under the 50 mark, so anyone who knows someone who may be interested in a social studies curriculum supplement, please pass the word and ask them to follow my blog. I will do a drawing when I have reached 100 followers for either a copy of "Train of Clues" or something else. See you all in the postings - Mrs. E :)

To those of you who happen by:
Take the time to explore this blog, explore the content of these wonderful accessible books for kids. No one is TOO old to read them. Take it from a teacher who uses them- they are engaging and informative. How many books to do have that you can say THAT about?

Your blog is wonderful, and I read it often. Keep up the excellent work, and before long, your followers will reach well over 50! Happy New Year from London, England.

Thank you. Mr. Hughes has a classroom library of well over 4000 books so he is a bit of an expert - lol.

I'm glad you have found my blog and that you think it is a wonderful blog. Pass the word and hopefully I'll get over that 100 mark of followers.

See ya'll in the postings - E ;)

Wow, thank you for this info. I will be so very sure to go blog hopping/following/subscribing now. I try to look for more than just home schooling kinds. i love variety, and i like to also stay in tune with main stream teachers as well.

I am president to a non profit home school organization (not just a social gathering or just a support group, we have that plus more.) and we will be starting co-ops and small classes soon. We would love to have authors and other things like this for us. Thankx

Mari, good luck with finding the right blogs to follow. You can check my list of blogs I follow on my profile - you will find some homeschoolers' blogs, some teachers and some just in general blogs - I'm growing quite the list for the variety. Glad to have you here - see you in the postings - E :)
