Altitude anyone?

It's official. The fourth book in the series is now with cover. That doesn't mean it is completed by any means (I've got to write the story around the clues now) but we are getting closer. I've been informed that State of Reservations will hopefully be published by November 1. I hope so since I have an event the middle of November.

So without further ado, here is the cover for State of Altitude:

And for comparison, here are the first four covers side by side:

What do you notice about the covers? Do the cover clue illustrations help you guess the state or do you need to purchase a copy of the book to read more to figure out which state is being described? Which is your favorite so far? Drop me a line and let me know.

See you all in the postings - E :)

The covers are great! I think that most people familiar with U.S. geography/history would be able to pick out which book is for which state. At the very least, you'd know the general region and whether or not it would be of interest. I love the concept. The covers are definitely eye-catching!

Thanks Darcia. My illustrator does a good job in picking out her "models" for the covers and the inside illustrations. All these are clues and will be in the book only in line sketches - not in color. My 16-year-old daughter was fooled by the cover for State of Altitude. My husband wasn't really reading when I showed him the cover and he said the same thing as my daughter but then when I told him what the title was - he guessed it but not by state, by a city in the state - named that city as the state - Men.

Thanks for stopping by and checking out my covers. Follow my blog for more updates - E :)

They all look fabulous, E! We received book 2 recently, so I can't wait to start reading the series to the boys soon. :)
